The main purpose of role is to learn and develop the skills:

To provide a range of specialist and general administrative and/or data processing duties to support effective service delivery.

To administer processes and procedures using available equipment and ICT packages and maintain accurate electronic and paper based records to meet organisational standards and requirements.

Deal efficiently and courteously with queries, where required arrange and support meetings, and respond to requests for information to assist in ensuring that service performance levels are met.

Support the work of other administrative staff during periods of absence or unusually high volumes of work to maintain the efficient provision of administrative services.

The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves 12 – 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Support Services Assistant Apprentice to join the Administration team within the Adult Social Care Service. This is a great chance to gain a Business Administration Level 3 Qualification whilst working for the Adult Social care team that provide social care to the community.

As part of this role you can expect to undertake the following tasks:

  • Data inputting
  • Scanning
  • Filing
  • Updating of systems
  • Email inbox monitoring
  • Maintenance of database
  • Room bookings
  • Using the council finance systems
  • Responding to simple queries via telephone or email

Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
