Apprentice - Public Health SHIFT Project
The successful applicant will gain the knowledge and skills required to effectively support the work of the SHIFT project team in Medway. The apprenticeship is suitable for someone just beginning their career, returning to work after a break or career changing and is open to anyone of working age. SHIFT is a 2Seas Interreg funded project to improve the Sexual health of people aged forty-five and over by finding new and innovative ways to make testing and support services more accessible. The project also aims to develop training materials for the wider workforce and add to the academic evidence base.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic SHIFT project Apprentice to join the Sexual Health team within the Public Health Service. This is a great chance to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship whilst working for the sexual health team that commission and manage evidence based sexual health services across Medway.
As part of this role you can expect to undertake the following tasks:
- Data inputting
- Updating of systems
- Email inbox monitoring
- Maintenance of database
- Arranging focus groups and other meetings
- Taking notes in meetings
- Liaising with other agencies and organisations in the South East of England and Northern Europe
- Supporting training delivery
For Level 3 Apprentices - The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves 12 – 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.
Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
