We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic apprentice, with good communication and interpersonal skills, to join the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team


Delivering a range of services to support the work of the SEN Team you will undertake duties on Excel spreadsheets relating to SEN pupils, placements and funding. You will assist with providing various data reports including central government returns. You will update and maintain information records such as scanning, word processing, spreadsheets and filing as well as the council’s data system (Synergy) and finance system (Integra). You will also communicate with colleagues, other Council departments and external organisations (such as schools) by telephone, face-to-face and e-mail.


We are offering this opportunity to an ambitious candidate who is enthusiastic and is keen to learn. There will be a requirement to commit to study as part of the Business and Administration apprenticeship programme, for which you will receive guidance and support throughout

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic SEN Business Information Apprentice to join the SEN team. This is a great chance to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 whilst working for the SEN team


As part of this role you can expect to undertake the following tasks:


           Data inputting




           Updating of systems


           Email inbox monitoring


           Maintenance of database


           Using the council finance systems


           Responding to simple queries via telephone or email


The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves 12 – 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.


Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
