Senior Engineer (Planned Maintenance)
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Highway Planned Maintenance Team. You will be required to have highway engineering expertise in order to lead and contribute to efficient and effective provision of engineering services. They will provide effective management and support to the Highways Planned Maintenance team, day to day project management and undertaking tasks to ensure effective delivery of highway projects.
Manage the Assistant Engineers and Highway Technicians within the team on a daily basis in relation to Planned Carriageway and Footway Resurfacing, including delegation of work and providing support and guidance, as well as undertaking PDR’s and 1:1’s as necessary.
Be responsible for finance monitoring and programming of budgets.
Be the lead on engagement with stakeholders to build sound and productive working relationships.
Arrange, engage in, and support the team with regard to ongoing training, including health and safety, engineering knowledge, up-to-date skills etc.
Provide a customer response, especially relating to highway planned maintenance and winter maintenance i.e. Confirm enquiries and Freedom of Information requests.
Be the lead officer for managing winter maintenance within Medway including but not limited to arranging duty officer rota and training, collaboration with internal colleagues and those in neighbouring authorities. Maintenance of salt bins, weather stations and managing the snow warden programme.
Be the lead officer for Highway surveys including managing contracts for pavement surveys, agreeing survey network for SCRIM, SANNER, CVI and FMS surveys.
