Medway EPS provides support to all schools and academies and the community in and around Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Strood. We offer a consultation service with a named EP for every school and academy. We are increasingly a traded service with schools and academies valuing our service and purchasing EP time for assessments, interventions, therapeutic work, training and systemic work. We work closely with colleagues in SEN and the 0-25 Social Care Disability team and have recently become an integrated service. We have good partnership working with colleagues in Social Care and Health.
We are a supportive and collaborative team of 13 educational psychologists (10.6fte) and work centrally from the Medway Council Offices at Gun Wharf in Chatham. We are enthusiastic about applying psychology, valuing new applications, research and evidence based approaches. Several members of the team are accredited VIG practitioners. We are passionate about inclusion and value working directly with children, young people and their families within the context of early year’s settings, schools, our local FE College and the community. We offer placements to Trainee Educational Psychologists and value the contribution they make to our service.
We offer induction, regular supervision and access to CPD.
We welcome applications from those currently in Year 3 of their training as well those who are already qualified as EPs. Consideration will also be given to requests to work part-time.
Offers of appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council.
