Trading Standards Officer
Medway Council’s Trading Standards is looking for an experienced and, ideally, qualified Trading Standards Officer, holding a DCATS, DTS or DCA qualification.
Our Trading Standards Department carries out the broad spectrum of Trading Standards functions through both enforcement and business advice.
This role involves the full range of Trading Standards legislation and therefore an officer with a detailed knowledge of criminal legal systems is essential. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of investigations, projects and campaigns, and be required to prioritise workloads to achieve good outcomes for the service, residents and businesses of Medway.
You will be a highly motivated individual and possess excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to deal with businesses at all levels to achieve compliance whilst being able to confidently respond to potentially difficult and stressful situations in a professional manner.
This post requires an exceptional team player who also has a proven ability to work autonomously and to prioritise workload against targets and meet deadlines. Demonstrating the ability to work without supervision and deliver work on time and to the required quality.
