Through medway.gov.uk, we’re redeveloping existing processes in line with Gov UK standards to make our website and online services easy for residents and visitors to use.
We need an exceptional developer who understands the web, technology and people.
You’ll work with content, technical, service design and user research colleagues to continuously improve our user focussed, accessible online presence.
We are looking for a Senior Developer who will be responsible for managing back-end development of our core systems. Your primary focus will be working with our chosen content management system, forms and workflow system (JADU). You will work with colleagues to integrate web services to expose key functionality to our users. You will also be responsible for converting wireframes into HTML / CSS mock-ups for user testing and developing these on our production systems. Therefore, an advanced understanding of front-end technologies, code and asset optimisation is necessary as well.
- A relevant computer related qualification to degree level
- A good standard of general education
- Strong knowledge of PHP 7+ including framework architecture (Symphony, Laravel)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (including methodologies such as GitFlow)
- Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP) stack.
- User authentication and authorisation between multiple systems, servers, and environments (including oAuth and JSON web tokens
