LADO - Local Authority Designated Officer
Following additional investment in Children’s Social Care we are seeking two experienced LADOs to join our Children’s Quality Assurance team.
It is an exciting and innovative time to be joining Medway. We are currently supporting and investing in our staff to become a Signs of Safety Authority this will facilitate practice development to better support the children, young people and families in Medway. We are therefore looking for qualified and experienced practitioners whom are passionate about social work practice to work in Medway at the beginning of this exciting journey.
Reporting to the LADO and Education Safeguarding Manager, the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) will deliver the statutory functions of the Designated Officer including the management and oversight of allegations against people who work with children. You will be required to chair allegation management meetings and provide advice, guidance, support and challenge to employers, voluntary agencies and organisations regarding an employee or volunteer who is subject to an allegation. The LADO will ensure that effective mechanisms are in place to progress allegations in a clear, timely and appropriate manner so that children and young people are supported and protected from harm.
The LADO role is part of the Medway Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service. We are committed to creating a culture of continuous learning and development within Medway Children’s Services.
