Health Improvement Coordinator (Stop Smoking and NHS Health Checks)
We are currently recruiting for a Health Improvement Coordinator on a permanent, part-time basis.
The purpose of this role is to provide valuable health improvement interventions for people living or working in Medway. The post holder will be required to deliver specialist support to smokers wanting to quit smoking using the variety of facilities currently offered as part of the Medway Stop Smoking Service, including face to face, online, telephone or through a dedicated texting service. The role will also demand delivery of NHS Health Checks to eligible residents of Medway across a wide range of settings. This includes taking a client’s height and weight, waist measurement, cholesterol (finger prick blood sample) and blood pressure. Full training, including Level 2 Stop Smoking Advisor and NHS Health Checks, as well as ongoing clinical supervision will be provided.
This health improvement role is targeted, and the post holder will be expected to meet targets on a quarterly basis, in line with national objectives. In order to achieve this, the post holder must be able to collect; record and maintain accurate data.
It is vital that the post holder is an excellent team player and is flexible to be able to cover team member’s clinics on occasions such as, annual leave or sickness absence. This role will require the post holder to work from the Smokefree Advice Centre (SAC) throughout the week and cover the weekend clinic on a rota basis, in addition to working regular evenings each week (generally no later than 8pm) and on Saturdays, according to the service needs.
The post holder will be expected to promote both the Medway Stop Smoking Service and NHS Health Checks through a variety of channels including at face to face promotional events and through social media.
As both Stop Smoking services and NHS Health Check clinics are run at various locations in Medway, the ability to drive and own a car is essential.
