Private Sector Housing and Adaptations Manager
We are looking for a Private Sector Housing and Adaptations Manager to be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of private sector housing services across Medway by commissioning or direct provision.
You will manage, coordinate and develop the strategic direction of the Private Sector Housing and Adaptations Team to ensure quality service delivery and value for money and operate using the fully range of legislative powers available. The post holder will represent the service in liaising with both internal and external agencies, senior officers and elected members where appropriate.
You will be responsible for developing policies, strategies and projects in relation to interventions in respect of private sector housing and adaptations assistance in Medway.
To lead, support and manage the Private Sector and Adaptations Team and ensure that sufficient capacity is available to deliver services and approved programmes.
Assisting the Head of Housing Services, as a member of the Strategic Housing Service Management Team, in the delivery of the housing strategy and other relevant strategies.
To manage and direct the day to day work of the service including community engagement education and enforcement.
To work closely with and assist the Head of Housing Services in the development and implementation of the council housing services. To provide a coordinated approach to assisting other sections of the directorate, other directorates and other agencies in the delivery of housing services.
To work with colleagues and partners in identifying, developing and implementing area based renewal strategies.
To work pro-actively with health and social care services to deliver effective use of the Disabled Facilities Grant to meet strategic objectives
To ensure that equal opportunities issues are taken into account in all service decisions and policies.
To be responsible for budget monitoring.
