We are looking for an Apprentice to join our Public Health Team. The successful applicant(s) will gain the knowledge and skills required to effectively support the Public Health Team with a wide range of duties linked to the Public Health agenda. This will include Smoking Cessation, Health Checks and Tobacco Control.
The apprenticeship is suitable for someone just beginning their career, returning to work after a break or career changing and is open to anyone of working age.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Public Health Apprentice to join the team within the Public Health Service. This is a great chance to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship whilst working on Smoking Cessation, Health Checks and Tobacco Control and the delivery of a range of services to improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
As part of this role you can expect to undertake the following tasks:
- Data inputting/Data collation
- Mail outs
- Auditing resources
- Updating of systems
- Assist with training organisation
- Assist with local campaign
- Engage with public at promotional events
- Email inbox monitoring
- Maintenance of database
- Responding to simple queries via telephone or email
- Deliver up-to-date information via social media channels.
- Undertake client satisfaction calls, including follow-up surveys
The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves 12 – 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.
Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
