Assessment and Support Worker
This is an exciting time to be joining our Deaf Services Team. Our specialist team has knowledge, skills and experience to work effectively with D/deaf people, and people who are hard of hearing and affected by dual sensory loss.
Our aim is to assist, where appropriate people affected by D/deafness, hard of hearing and Dual sensory loss. We endeavour to empower people to lead as full and independent a life as possible, breaking through barriers and accessing opportunities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and well individual who has experience of working with people with a hearing and/or sight loss and qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) or a first language BSL user. An ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, is essential. You will be expected to effectively manage a caseload in a timely and professional manner. Applicants must have a good knowledge of relevant legislation, and an understanding of the complex issues related to sensory loss.
You will be provided with a Microsoft Surface Pro and mobile phone to support mobile working.
- GCSE standard (A*-C or equivalent), including English.
- BSL Level 2 minimum (accredited course SIGNATURE or CACDP)
- Must be able to travel throughout Medway
