ASB and Community Safety (Housing) Apprentice
A unique opportunity has arisen for an Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) and Community Safety apprenticeship within Medway Council Housing Services. The successful candidate will learn a wide range of skills in ASB case management as well as wider housing and tenancy management. They will also work with our ASB Tenancy Management Officer to investigate and prevent anti-social behaviour in our communities whilst being supported to achieve a formal qualification.
This programme focuses on the theories and practices needed to effectively respond to reports of antisocial behaviour and community safety issues including:
- Investigation techniques
- The harm centred approach
- Informal and formal resolution tools
- Working effectively with partner and enforcement agencies
- Legal processes
You will also initially shadow and support the Tenancy Management Officers, working closely with other departments and agencies to identify anti-social behaviour, vulnerable customers at risk of anti-social behaviour and supporting complainants, victims, and witnesses throughout cases.
You can expect to undertake the following tasks:
- To assist in the delivery of effective anti-social behaviour case management.
- To liaise with other agencies to gather information.
- Data inputting and scanning
- Updating of systems
- Email inbox monitoring
- Maintenance of database
- Using the council finance systems
- Responding to customer queries via telephone or email

Required skills:
- Good communication skills
- A good and patient listener
- Good ICT skills with an understanding of Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn and succeed and a good attention to detail.
Due to the nature of this role a driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
