Team Manager – Fostering
Medway are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Team Manager to lead on the recruitment and assessment of foster carers. This is an exciting position which is at the forefront of our ambition to provide family-based care to children in their own community as part of our Sufficiency Strategy. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in the recruitment and assessment of foster families with an ability to formulate, implement and review successful strategies. Knowledge of the recruitment of foster families and National Minimum Standards is essential. Additionally, you will be responsible for the Private Fostering and Supported Lodgings scheme. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in I.T. skills. This is an opportunity to be part of an established, supportive and child focused service.
As a registered social worker with SWE you will have a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience working with children and families in the statutory sector. You will also be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience and ideally have experience of working with ‘Signs of Safety’ or a similar relationship and strengths-based practice framework.
As the Team Manager, you will have to lead, manage, and motivate experienced staff and newly qualified workers, whilst also deputising and supporting the Group Manager where necessary. This role is a full-time, and permanent position.
You will be motivated, committed and passionate about making a difference to the lives of children, young people and families. You will be able to build effective working relationships, demonstrate strong analytical skills and robust understanding of the care proceedings process.
Sitting alongside colleagues within the Corporate Parenting Service, this is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced manager to lead the children in care team, while focusing on the delivery of outstanding care planning to ensure children and young people experience the best possible care and achievement of permanence at the earliest opportunity.
